La leggendaria band dei Blue Öyster Cult ha realizzato per il suo 50° anniversario un disco live registrato grazie a tre spettacoli di fila e che hanno registrato il tutto esaurito nel settembre 2022 alla Sony Hall di New York. Ad ogni serata ha partecipato come ospite il grande Albert Bouchard.

In ogni live i nostri hanno suonato per intero uno dei primi tre album ( ‘Blue Öyster Cult’, ‘Tiranny and Mutation’ e ‘Secret Treaties’) con altri brani estratti da altri loro lavori.

Un live da collezione che consta di due cd e nel primo ritroviamo tutto il loro primo album del 1972, il secondo attinge un pò da tutta la loro discografia e non paghi troviamo anche un DVD/Blue Ray in cui vi è tutto il live per intero.

Un cofanetto da non lasciarsi sfuggire anche per le nuove generazioni che magari non conoscono una band che ha attraversato oltre 50 anni di musica e successi; i Blue Öyster Cult che sono stati ispirazione per svariate band come ad esempio i Metallica.

Unici nel loro genere, storici e contemporanei con una versatilità di prim’ordine nell’eseguire i grandi classici come, nel primo cd, ‘Transmaniacon Mc’, ‘Then Came The Last Days Of May’ o l’ ineguagliabile ‘Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll’. Il secondo cd è un crescendo con brani del calibro di ‘Career Of Evil’, ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’ e la stupenda ‘Tainted Blood’; consideriamo anche il fatto che in questo live, la band ci regala anche dei brani che dal vivo solitamente non esegue come, ad esempio, ‘I’m On The Lamb But I Ain’t No Sheep’; poi per andare sul sicuro guardiamoci il DVD di tutto il live per godere appieno del live in toto. Non c’è bisogno di grandi cerimonie credetemi! Questo è un cofanetto da avere e da far conoscere alle nuove generazioni anche per caparbietà, suono e stile unici. Pochi come loro hanno raggiunto un traguardo del genere senza scendere a compromessi, con l’ entusiasmo e l’umiltà che li contraddistingue.

Per questo e molto altro (ma ascoltateli in questo lavoro dal vivo) lunga vita ai Blue Öyster Cult!
